Hotel Santa Cruz Interview

By Interviewer at 06/18/07 23:13

Name of your website?

Hotel Santa Cruz

Your name?

Diego Fernandez

Your Location (city, etc)

Lima

When did you start your website and why?

I started the website last year. I know it can look better, but our focus is to make it easy to look and functionally. The main reason behid it is to promote our hotel to the world, using the internet for that.

Please give us a short summary of your website, business model, etc

Th hotel is a 3 star category, but we offer an exelent service to our guest. We want them to fell like they are at home, while they visit this great country

What has been the most difficult part of creating and running your website?

The positioning ;) It's a joke, i think that the online reservation script is the hardest part of it.

What has been the easist part of operating your website?

I think that everything. We put a lot in this web and we feel that customers are receptive about that. This make things a lot of easier

What was your biggest mistake?

Take so long to make the website. Now we can say that we reach the world.

Who maintains your website and why?

I do it. Why? Because it's my job ;)

Tell us how your business has benefitted from your website?

Bringing new customers. Now we are acepting around 9 to 10 online reservations.

What are your views on ecommerce and the future of the internet?

I think that this is the future. THe internet will bring everything to our homes, from the newspaper to a bag of sugar.

What are your views on Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?

It's very complicated to explain, but the work is even harder.

What are your views on Search Engines? Have they helped or hindered your website?

As i said, it's not easy to optimize a site. It a lot of work, trying differents aproaches to find the best to the hotel. Did i said that's hard?

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Directory listing. But be carefull when you select them, or you could finish in a linkfarm, wich is not good. Adwords of Google works good for us to when we use it.

What method has been least successful for promoting your website?

The link exchange, few people will exchange links with a hotel.

What would you like to see change with respect to the internet?

What i hate from the internet and the "new webmasters" is that they force you to register in their site, when they don't have anything usefull to show the visitors.

What is your website address?

Hotel Santa Cruz
